Carbon, liquids crop tours
STRONG crop responses to a range of carbon products and high concentrate liquid fertilisers on farms across the State’s agricultural region can be viewed by growers, agronomists and advisers on a number of properties next week.
Participants will also gain an understanding of how the products are being used for seeding and foliar applications, their performance in State-wide trials and important soil carbon and health benefits.
Carbon Ag is coordinating the ‘Farming Systems Demo Tour’, with a bus also available to visit the properties. Farmers visited as part of the tour include:
· Dylan Hirsch at Latham and Gavin Broun at Coorow on Monday, September 21.
· Gilmac at York, Jeff Edwards at Brookton and Barry West at Kulin on Tuesday, September 22.
· Ben Stanich at Pingrup and Trevor Stone at Borden on Wednesday, September 23.
Some of the products used on the farms include the C33 carbon pellet drilled at sowing; the Broadacre Blend loose carbon; liquid phosphorus and potassium fertiliser, DKP, which is also in Council of Grain Grower Organisations (COGGO) trials; the immediately available calcium, magnesium and nitrogen product, CalMag; and the Bioprime line-up of soil microbial stimulants.
Growers, agronomists and advisers attending the tour will hear from some of the farmers and the Carbon Ag team during the property visits.
Those interested in attending and gaining further information about the tour can contact Brad Wisewould, Carbon Ag, on 0429 107 919.
